Who is
Coco?

Back

Coco, aka Cocomoino, is a self taught visual artist, writer an performer. As a child, she developed a passion for poetry and photography, and later for multimedia projects and visual arts (watercolor, mixed media, collage, digital).

Coco’s work is inspired by her lived experience as a multiply neurodivergent. She defines herself as autistic and disabled. She has also ADHD (attention deficit disorder with hyperactivity), CPTSD (complex post-traumatic stress disorder) and dyspraxia. These particularities influence all aspects of her life, whether social or practical, and she is trying to build a work practice as accessible as possible around herself.

Coco's art and writings speak of mental health and inclusion, kindly holding space for all our emotions. She creates colorful pieces that resonate and create a connection with her audience, speaking out against ableism and stereotypical representations.

Coco is a white non-binary person. She was born in 1983 in a tiny Swiss village, from Italian parents. Her journey has been marked by violence and uprooting.

Coco is many things! She is also a digital product designer with more than 20 years of experience in the industry. These last few years she's been working exclusively on projects with social impact.

Coco's greatest hope is that her art could bring a sense of comfort, joy and pride to people with similar lived experiences, but also open well-need conversations on the topic of inclusion among allies and the general public.
